1. By studying philosophy you are able to think outside of the box. Expand your imagination and gain knowledge of how other people see and have to terms with the world around us. It is extremely interesting in trying to find the answers to questions that have been unanswered for hundreds of years. It helps put many aspect of life in perspective and give life a greater meaning. It teaches you to understand how something takes place. A perfect example would be taking an acetaminphen for a headache. You know that if you have a headache you automatically take an acetaminophen for the pain however do not take into consideration the chemicals that are absorbed into you body to alter you sensitivity of your nerves to help stop the pain. Philosophy is definitely the love for wisdom. 2. Thee Socratic Method is one of the oldest methods of thinking. It is when you ask a broad question in hopes to find the answer. I do believe that this is a good way for students to learn because it requires more effort. It makes you strategize and think critically as aspects of the subject. The more you ask the broader your think, the more information you find. 3. Critical thinking is essential in all aspects of learning. To me critical thinking is a way to analyze something from all points of views. It helps evaluate an issue, be rational and objective, use all the information gathers to come to a conclusion.
